6-8 Assisted Pitching | Rules

LOCAL RULES:

Game time will be one hour and thirty minutes.

No new inning will be started after the time limit has been reached.

Once an inning is started it must be finished.

Score will not be kept.

BATTING RULES:

(1) Duration of a half inning is once through the entire batting order. At this stage, we are developing players batting. Everyone hits.

(2) 3 strikes and you're out. If a player gets thrown out on a bag, they're out.

(3) No walks or hit by pitch.

(4) No catcher's interference rule.

(5) No bunting.

(6) No infield-fly rule.

(7) A ball that inadvertently strikes the coach that is pitching is ruled a single.

(8) If there is no umpire the coach should stand behind the pitching machine to call balls and strikes.

BASE RUNNING RULES:

(1) No leading off.

(2) No stealing.

(3) No head first sliding. An infraction of this rule is an automatic out.

(4) Runners may only advance on a live batted ball.

(5) One extra base will be allowed on any overthrow.

(6) All runners must slide on close plays. If a runner fails to slide they risk being called out at the descretion of the umpire, even is they were safe.

DEFENSIVE RULES:

(1) All players must play infield at least one inning per game.

(2) No player shall sit out more than 2 defensive innings per game.

COACHING RULES:

(1) Each team must supply its own adult pitcher (age 18 & over). This person must be a coach.

(2) While pitching, the coaches are not allowed to instruct the batter.

(3) Pitches are made through a pitching machine that is tailored to their level of play.


The coach from the team at bat will call balls, strikes, and any outs at bases.
