6-8 Assisted Pitching | Rules

LOCAL RULES:

1. Batting helmets must be worn.

2. Pants are required.

3. Games will be one (1) hour and 30 minutes in length or five (5) innings.

4. No new inning will be started within the last five (5) minutes of the time limit.

5. Once an inning has been started, it must be finished.

6. Score will not be kept.

7. The home team will occupy the 3rd base side. The home team will get the pitching machine from the umpire room and set it up. The visiting team will occupy the 1st base side and will take the pitching machine back to the umpire room.

8. Any coach or player that gets ejected from a game MUST meet with the coordinator and president or vice president of the board before they can coach or play again.

9. All protests during a game will be handled by the coordinator working that night.

10. If a game is played and there is a weather delay/ cancellation and that game is over an hour long, that will be considered a “full game.”

11. If a batter bats out of order, they are automatically out.

12. For any player substitution:

      a. That player must be a registered player in the league for that age division.

      b. The player who is subbing for the team, must bat last and play in the outfield.

BATTING RULES:

1. The whole team will bat.

2. Bunting is not allowed.

3. Three (3) strikes and the batter is out.

4. All bats can be used.

BASE RUNNING RULES:

1. No leading off.

2. No stealing.

3. No head first sliding. A violation of this rule is an automatic out.

4. All runners must slide on close plays. If a runner fails to slide they are at risk of being called out at the discretion of the umpire, even if they were safe.

5. Runners may only advance on a live ball.

6. One extra base will be allowed on any overthrow.

PITCHING RULES:

Pitching machine will be used for all games.

DEFENSIVE RULES:

1. No player shall sit out more than two (2) defensive innings per game.

COACHING RULES:

1. Two (2) adult base coaches are allowed.

2. Only players, two (2) coaches and one (1) dugout manager are allowed in the dugout area.

3. The coaches are allowed to instruct the batter.
